Chief Ahmed Ajibola, popularly known as General H, has resigned as a member of the City Boy Movement (CBM), ending his involvement with the pro-President Bola Tinubu support group while reaffirming his loyalty to the President and his administration.
Ajibola, who previously served as the Oyo State Coordinator of the movement, announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the national leadership. He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the group in Oyo State, describing the role as both an honour and a privilege.
He revealed that after his removal as state coordinator, he was offered new positions as Director of Affairs in Oyo State and South-West Coordinator for Stakeholder Engagement. However, he declined both appointments, saying his decision was based on principle.
According to Ajibola, leadership should be built on fairness, transparency, loyalty, competence and mutual respect. He argued that recent developments within the Oyo chapter convinced him that he could no longer continue with the organisation, claiming that the new leadership had departed from the movement’s founding ideals.
Despite leaving the group, Ajibola stressed that his resignation should not be interpreted as a withdrawal of support for President Tinubu. He pledged to continue promoting the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda and to support the President’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.
He also thanked members across Oyo State for their loyalty, commitment and sacrifices during his tenure as coordinator.
However, the City Boy Movement maintained that Ajibola’s exit followed disciplinary action that led to his removal from office over allegations of gross misconduct, insubordination and actions considered harmful to the organisation.
The movement said the disciplinary process began after receiving a petition accusing him of violating its code of conduct. In a notice dated June 2, 2026, and signed by the Director-General, Hon. Francis Oluwatosin Shoga, Ajibola was accused of making abusive and derogatory remarks against the movement’s national leadership, including the Director-General.
He was also alleged to have made offensive comments about the group’s patron, Seyi Tinubu, and President Bola Tinubu. Other allegations included creating divisions within the Oyo chapter, challenging a leader to a physical confrontation, showing disrespect for constituted authority and engaging in conduct capable of bringing the organisation into disrepute.
The organisation said Ajibola was given 48 hours to submit a written defence before disciplinary measures were taken. Following the conclusion of the process, he was removed as Oyo State Coordinator.
Meanwhile, the City Boy Movement has appointed Hon. Adewale Oladiti as the new Oyo State Coordinator.
In his appointment letter dated August 6, 2026, the movement said Oladiti was selected in recognition of his dedication to grassroots mobilisation and his commitment to strengthening the organisation in Oyo State.
The letter added that the state coordinator would report directly to the Oyo State Director, who remains the chief coordinating authority of the movement in the state.
