Chelsea have won the 2026 Indonesia Super Cup after defeating Italian giants AC Milan 3-0 in Jakarta on Saturday.
The victory at the GBK Stadium marked the Blues’ first silverware of their pre-season tour and provided a strong boost to their preparations for the 2026/27 campaign.
Brazilian forward Joao Pedro was the star of the encounter, scoring twice, while Ecuadorian midfielder Moises Caicedo completed the rout with a spectacular volley.
Chelsea took control of the game before the interval and broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time. Joao Pedro connected with Caicedo’s corner and directed a glancing header beyond Milan goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriani.
The London club doubled their advantage shortly after the restart when Pedro Neto supplied a cross to the far post. Joao Pedro found space behind his marker and calmly guided the ball into the net to register his second goal of the match.
Caicedo added a third in the 50th minute with an impressive outside-of-the-boot volley.
The move originated from another Chelsea corner, with Romeo Lavia playing the ball towards the edge of the penalty area before Caicedo produced a superb finish into the corner.
Milan made several changes at half-time, while Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso maintained his starting line-up. The Blues continued to threaten despite holding a comfortable three-goal advantage.
Cole Palmer forced another save from Torriani with a long-range effort, while substitute Nicolas Jackson came close to adding a fourth after bursting into the Milan penalty area before seeing his effort hit the post.
Chelsea began the match with Robert Sanchez in goal, with Josh Acheampong, Wesley Fofana, Jorrel Hato and Marco Palestra forming the defensive line.
Caicedo and Lavia anchored the midfield, while Palmer, Joao Pedro, Neto and Danny Welbeck led the attack.
The result represents Chelsea’s first trophy of their Indonesian pre-season campaign as Alonso continues to shape his squad ahead of the new season.
Chelsea will continue their tour on Sunday when they travel to Malaysia to face Johor Darul Ta’zim. Kick-off is scheduled for 8pm local time, which is 1pm UK time.
