President Bola Tinubu has returned to Lagos following a diplomatic tour of France, Kenya and Rwanda, where he engaged in high-level meetings focused on economic reforms, regional cooperation and investment opportunities.
Tinubu arrived on Friday evening at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja, Lagos, at about 7:12 p.m.
The President was welcomed by Lagos State Governor, ; Deputy Governor, ; Chief of Staff to the President, ; Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, ; alongside other senior government officials.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesman, , the presidency said Tinubu used the visit to promote his administration’s economic reforms and attract foreign investment.
During his stay in France, Tinubu reportedly met with global investors, where he stressed transparency, fiscal discipline and the rationale behind the government’s economic policies.
The President also attended the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted by French President, , and Kenyan President, .
At the summit, Tinubu called for reforms to the global financial system and advocated stronger economic integration across Africa to drive development and prosperity on the continent. He also highlighted Nigeria’s blue economy potential and pledged to share the country’s maritime intelligence infrastructure with interested Gulf of Guinea nations.
While in Nairobi, Tinubu held bilateral talks with Madagascan President, .
In Kigali, Rwanda, the Nigerian leader participated in the Africa CEO Forum alongside African heads of state, investors and business leaders. Discussions at the forum focused on boosting Africa’s economic transformation through regional partnerships and cross-border investments.
Tinubu also met with Rwandan President, , as well as representatives of multinational organisations including , and .
According to the presidency, the meetings yielded positive outcomes, particularly in areas relating to investment and economic cooperation.
The statement further disclosed that Tinubu is expected to participate in the All Progressives Congress primaries beginning on Saturday in Lagos.
He also urged party members and aspirants involved in the primaries to remain peaceful and conduct themselves responsibly in the interest of the party and the country.
