Afrobeats superstar Davido has gifted singer Mayorkun a brand-new Tesla Cybertruck, further highlighting the close bond between the two artistes despite Mayorkun’s departure from Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).
The “Unavailable” singer announced the surprise gift on Sunday through his Instagram Story, where he shared a photo of the luxury electric pickup truck alongside a heartfelt message to his former signee.
“My gift to you. I love you #iammayorkun,” Davido wrote, while instructing an associate to ensure the vehicle is delivered the following day.
Although Davido did not reveal the value of the gift, the vehicle shown is a Tesla Cybertruck, an all-electric pickup known for its distinctive stainless-steel exterior and futuristic design.
The Cybertruck is priced between $69,990 and $99,990 in the United States, depending on the model and specifications. However, due to import duties, shipping costs and other charges, the vehicle is estimated to sell for between ₦200 million and ₦340 million in Nigeria.
Mayorkun joined DMW in 2016 and rose to prominence under Davido’s mentorship before leaving the label in 2021 to pursue an independent music career. Despite the split, both artistes have continued to maintain a cordial relationship, often showing public support and admiration for each other.
