President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the deadly attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, where about 30 people, including women and children, were reportedly killed.
Describing the assault as a “barbaric and cowardly attack,” the President vowed that those behind the violence would be brought to justice and would not be allowed to undermine peace and security in Kaduna State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu said the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Monday, targeted innocent and defenceless residents. The assailants reportedly killed dozens of people, injured several others and set homes ablaze.
The President extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, the state government and the people of Kaduna State, assuring the affected communities of the Federal Government’s continued support.
Tinubu also directed the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force and intelligence agencies to intensify operations in the affected area to apprehend those responsible and restore peace.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s security architecture by improving security infrastructure, equipping personnel and dismantling criminal networks responsible for violent attacks across the country.
The President further appealed to residents to support security agencies by providing credible and timely information that could help prevent future attacks and improve emergency response efforts.
The attack on Naridon Village has drawn widespread concern after armed men reportedly stormed the community, killing about 30 residents, including women and children, and destroying several homes by fire.
