Zenith Bank has launched an investigation into a cybersecurity incident that resulted in unauthorised access to limited customer information, including email addresses and phone numbers.

In a notice issued to customers on Tuesday, the bank disclosed that the breach forms part of a wider global cyberattack that has affected multiple organisations across different sectors worldwide.

The bank said it immediately activated its incident response protocols and implemented cybersecurity measures upon detecting the incident to contain the breach and strengthen its systems.
Despite the unauthorised access, Zenith Bank assured customers that its core banking infrastructure, digital platforms, and financial services remain secure and fully operational.
The bank also urged customers to remain alert for possible phishing attempts, warning that fraudsters could exploit the exposed contact details through fake emails, text messages, or phone calls.
Customers were advised never to share sensitive information such as passwords, Personal Identification Numbers (PINs), One-Time Passwords (OTPs), or any other security credentials with anyone claiming to represent the bank.
Zenith Bank reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding customer information and said it is continuing its investigation while taking additional steps to enhance security.
The bank thanked customers for their continued confidence and encouraged anyone with concerns or enquiries to contact Zenith Direct through its official customer service channels.
