Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has claimed that his administration has achieved about 90 per cent of the promises made to residents since assuming office three years ago.

Yusuf made the assertion on Saturday while receiving the Emir of Rano, , who paid him a Sallah homage visit at the Government House in Kano.

According to a statement issued by the Director-General of Media and Publicity at the Government House, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor said his administration had remained focused on delivering people-centred policies and development projects across critical sectors.

He noted that progress had been recorded in education, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture, water supply, youth empowerment, and economic development, adding that the initiatives were designed to improve living standards and drive sustainable growth across the state.

The Governor said his government entered office with a clear agenda to transform the lives of citizens and expressed satisfaction with the level of progress achieved so far.

He added that efforts were ongoing to ensure that all remaining campaign commitments are fulfilled before the end of his tenure, stressing that development projects would continue to reach every part of the state.

The governor also reassured residents of the Rano Emirate that key projects earmarked for the area would receive priority attention. He highlighted the planned expansion and dualisation of the Karfi–Rano Road, the provision of subsidised fertiliser for farmers, and the renovation of the Emir’s Palace as some of the projects intended to improve the welfare of the people.

Yusuf thanked residents of the emirate for their continued support and confidence in his administration, promising to work harder to justify the trust placed in his government.

Earlier, the Emir of Rano commended the governor for what he described as notable achievements recorded during his three years in office. He cited the construction of five-kilometre roads in Rano, Kibiya and Bunkure Local Government Areas, as well as ongoing work on the Kaluwaiwai Water Project.

The monarch also praised efforts that led to the upgrade of the Rano Emirate Hospital to a Federal Medical Centre and the conversion of the School of Rural Technology in Rano into a Federal Polytechnic.

Describing the projects as transformative, the emir said they would have lasting benefits for future generations and pledged the continued support and cooperation of the people of Rano Emirate in promoting peace, security and development in Kano State.
